All patients are seen by appointment only. To access health care at all times please telephone the Surgery on 01782 657199.
So that we can make your appointment with the most appropriate clinician you may be asked to provide a brief outline of your problem. This applies particularly if you are making a nurse appointment because each nurse has different areas of expertise and speciality.
Our reception staff are fully trained to understand the need for confidentiality and discretion as part of their role. If you don't wish to tell the reception staff the nature of the problem you can of course decline but please bear in mind that it is possible you could end up seeing the wrong clinician for your problem and may have to return for a further appointment.
Our appointment system has two types of appointments,
- Book ahead
- Book on day: These make up the majority of our appointments. To request a same day appointment please phone at 8.30am and tell the receptionist if you have an urgent problem when you call. Arrangements can usually be made for you to be seen the same day.
Whilst we recognise that you may have a preference about which clinician that you see, we cannot always accommodate your wishes - especially if the problem is of an urgent nature.
Please do remember that your appointment is limited by time, if you have multiple problems the clinician may not be able to deal with them all adequately and may ask you to return another time for further discussion and assessment.
Although we do try to consider patient convenience, ultimately all appointment requests are considered on the basis of medical need.

Home Visits
Remember that we can see several patients at the practice in the time it takes for one home visit. Patients should have their appointment at the surgery if they can.
Lack of transport is not a reason to request a home visit.
