The practice has a Patient Participation group which is helping us be more responsive to your needs and providing a platform to discuss developments in the NHS as a whole and the practice.
If you are interested in joining the group please leave your name at reception. We may not be able to use your help yet as the aim is to have a mix of ages and genders in the group.

Barlaston Strollers
The Barlaston Strollers is part of the national Walking for Health scheme and a great way to get some exercise, enjoy fresh air and get to see more of the beautiful village we live in. There is no doubt that walking works – it makes people happy, keeps you healthy and can even save your life! This is the conclusion of an extensive new review by the Ramblers and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Reasons to walk
- Help your heart and lungs work better
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Improve good cholesterol and reduce blood pressure
- Build healthy muscles & bones to improve balance and reduce risk of falls
- Improves mental health and makes people feel happier
Our Health Walks will be
- Regular – initially 2 short walks a month, around 30/40 minutes
- Inclusive - accessible even to those who are currently returning to health
- Free - no membership fee and refreshments provided at the finish
- Led by volunteers who have completed walk leader training
To get us started, walks for the next 2 months will last around half an hour over flat terrain and with as few obstacles as possible. We will start and finish at the Village Hall (1, Longton Road, ST11 9AA) where there is parking, use of toilet facilities and a room where we can get together and chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit at the end. Do come and join us!
Walk dates are:
Tuesdays 7th April & 5th May at 10.00am (meet 9.45am)
Thursdays 16th April & 21st May at 2.00pm (meet 1.45pm)

Statement of Intent - Patient Access
The new GP contract requires the practice to make aspects of the patient record available to patients. In line with this requirement and given that we only had a new clinical system capable of offering this in June this year we have put together the attached Statement of Intent (DOC, 44KB). In essence we hope by the new year to have aspects of the patient record such as allergies, problems and medication available for patients to view online if they wish to do so.
