Repeat Prescriptions
Patients on regular medication often have a repeat prescription for certain items. Please allow 2 full working days notice in order for us to process your request (not including weekend and bank holidays). Some complex requests may take up to 3 working days.
To avoid mistakes, all requests for repeat medication must be made in writing. Telephone requests for medication are not accepted.
If you have a repeat prescription you will be asked to attend for review, usually with the practice nurse or nurse practitioner either once or twice per year. This review date is on your prescription. It is essential you attend these reviews as they are an important opportunity to assess the impact and effectiveness of your medication. As it is your responsibility to ensure that you do not run short of your regular medication, please plan ahead where possible.
Some drugs will not always be put on repeat prescription these include some stronger analgesics or drugs that require regular monitoring e.g. warfarin and methotrexate.
Requesting Repeat Prescriptions Online
To be able to request a repeat prescription online you must first obtain an identification number and password from the Practice. You are asked to call in at Brinsley Avenue Medical Practice with some form of photo identification to register for this service.
