Mental Health Practitioner
Amy Spruce works alongside Gp's for the PCN as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner
- Specialist assessment for patients who are presenting with risk/increasing risk of self-harm or harm to others linked to their mental health and are not open to mental health services.
- Patients who have been taking medication for more than six weeks or offered medication and declined AND have had one talking therapy at least 3 months ago.
- Patients who have been offered talking therapy or secondary mental health services, have not engaged but continue to present at the surgery.
- Provide short-term intervention to patients who are waiting for secondary care services, or who are ‘stuck’ and their mental health is declining.
- Provide consultation or discuss patients with GP colleagues who are needing advice regarding other mental health services or care pathways.
- Consider frequent attenders to the GP surgeries with difficulties in relation to their mental health.
