Dena Corden-LePetit has undertaken additional training and can provide an advanced range of nursing services, including prescribing. There are many problems she can help with, for example, joint injuries and sprains, recent onset back pain, skin rashes, shingles, scabies, infections of the chest, skin, ears, eyes or urinary tract, abdominal pain, asthma attack, vaginal problems.

Nurse Practitioners can assess and examine, make a diagnosis and treat many common conditions for which you may have previously needed to see a doctor. They can make referrals to hospital doctors or other health care professionals, and admit patients into hospital where necessary.

They are unable by law to sign a sick certificate they can make arrangements for one to be signed for you. (Only needed after the first 7 days of sickness self certificate forms are available from reception for the first 7 days). They work closely with the doctors and liaise with them about your care.

Nurse Practitioners also manage many long term conditions such as asthma, eczema, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, raised cholesterol levels, diabetes, epilepsy and respiratory disease.
